JOHNSON RESERVE

Johnson Reserve in Welcome Bay, Tauranga, is a nature lover's paradise. Immerse yourself in its beauty as you meander through native bush and enjoy the open grassed areas. Allow approximately two hours to fully experience the reserve, with a variety of tracks to choose from. The main entrance and car park is off Kaitemako Road, but there are multiple entrances. The park has large open spaces, 100 year old walnut trees, a waterfall, bush tracks and a boardwalk through wetland swamps. Dogs are welcome too.

And for a delightful treat or a well-deserved coffee, visit Pippy's Pantry located at 25 Kaitemako Road, right next to the reserve.

Advisory

The main walking track in Johnson Reserve is closed until late 2025 while wastewater infrastructure within the reserve is renewed. Tracks on the Waipuna Park side of the reserve, including the renewed boardwalks and bridges, will remain accessible through the duration of works. Tracks at the southern end of the reserve near the waterfall will also remain open.
