Panoramic views are often overlooked when whizzing by in a car, but on a horse you can take it all in and fully enjoy your natural surroundings while ambling along. Local horse treks are tailored to all abilities. Experienced riders will guide you along beautiful trails where you can admire native flora and fauna as well as farm animals such as pigs, ducks, cows, sheep and geese.

Horses are permitted on certain beaches and reserves at different times of year, so check the regulations online before you set off. TECT All Terrain Park in the hills behind Tauranga also has a number of great equestrian facilities available for you and your horse to enjoy.
