Join us on a walk that touches on the historical and cultural importance of the Papamoa Hills from the period of the arrival of the waka. Enjoy the panoramic views that inspired our ancestors to build their fortified villages in these hills.
If you are a community or corporate group, or anyone. who wants to know more about the Māori history of the Bay of Plenty coastline join us for a 3-4 hour walk in the Papamoa Hills. This coastline was from where much of Māori settlement around Aotearoa began. Hear the ancient stories from the spectacular views of the 'Hills'. Walk amongst what is regarded by archaeologists as the best kept concentration of pā sites in Aotearoa.
