DUNES TRAIL

The Dunes Trail starts at Memorial Park Reserve in Ōpōtiki and sweeps down the east coast. It's an easy trail for cyclists, walkers and runners alike, and by cycle, it is an approximately 2 to 3-hour return journey. The undulating track provides views out over the Pacific Ocean with plenty of opportunities to stop for a rest, or just to take a photo.

MOTU ROAD TRAIL

The Dunes Trail links up with the Motu Road Trail (sometimes called the Old Motu Coach Road) veers inland through remote bush country and historic farmland. There are a few hills on this trail that require a good level of fitness so it is perfect for e-bike riders.

PAKIHI TRACK

The Pakihi Track takes you on a journey through magnificent forests and is designed for skilled riders - it's a back-country track in challenging terrain. Stay overnight in the Pakihi Hut for a true bush experience, or just stop by for lunch. Be sure to stop and admire the scenery as you go as there's plenty to see!
